Amazing Thailand

We all dream of a place where tranquility, beauty and adventure go hand in hand. Located in Southeast Asia, Thailand, offers much more than just a tropical holiday destination. Regarded as one of the most welcoming counties in the world, Thailand is deservedly nick-named "the land of smiles". Thailand features several advantages of a fully developed country and sports a harmony rarely seen together between the old and the new. Climb on board and let us take you on the journey that is Thailand.

This colorful and exotic Kingdom has become the preferred destination in Asia. Thailand has competitive advantages in every respect: great accommodations, good restaurants, a great road-system, perfect medical facilities, nice beaches, a night-life never seen anywhere else, international schools, world-class golf courses, amazing shopping complexes and entertainment areas.

Thailand has become increasingly popular to private individuals in search of a change of lifestyle, whereby they are able to enjoy year-round sunshine, high quality and affordable day-to-day living standards. All this, combined with a safe and completely captivating culture make Thailand an extremely desirable investment opportunity.

Its cost of living is considered to be 1/3 that of major European countries. Mercer HR Consultant?s & Cost of Living survey ranks Bangkok as the 125th most expensive city in the world (of a total of 144 cities). In Thailand, foreign retirees can afford a completely new lifestyle, complete with an inviting tropical climate, as well as a full-range of facilities and services for a fraction of the cost in more developed countries.

Large communities of foreigners are scattered around Thailand's beaches and highland cities, due in part to the warm tropical weather, with temperatures of around 25 - 35 degrees Celsius for most of the year.

Pristine and sandy beaches are not the only attractions in Thailand. If you venture out into the peninsula, you will discover its true culture smack in the centre of the country. The magnificent Khmer Temples located in the north, for example, where you can admire unspoiled traditional life. Thailand is simply amazing.

Mexico vs Thailand I just had a little more more info from a news story I saw on Television 6000 killed directly related to the drug trade along with 500 police officers killed in the war against drugs in Mexico.

Mexico compared to Thailand

I recently went for a massage in Udon Thani ( Isan ) Northern Thailand when I struck up a conversation with a local Expat. I asked him how he liked Thailand he said great I feel safe here. I asked him to elaborate and he said I can go out at night and walk alone with out feeling like the locals are deciding weather to leave me alone or rob me. He then went on to tell me a little about his experience living in Mexico. Not only had things gotten almost as expensive as the United States he said the locals had turned to crime instead of hard work to make a living. Granted this is not the case everywhere but it had become much more wide spread than when he moved to Mexico about 20 years ago. He went on to tell me about the drug cartels controlling the local police. And local thugs whom when not busy with the drug trafficking trade, were taking up other wonderful pastimes such as home invasion robberies car prowling and Murder for hire. He said if you leave your car to go into a convenience store for 5 minutes and leave anything in your vehicle they will break the window and steal it in broad daylight. He said you can not even stop on the way home from shopping because you’re risking a theft from your vehicle. I could not believe it when he told me this last story. He said that one day he was working around the house and there was an automobile parked up on the sidewalk. Looked like someone had had to much fun the night before and he thought nothing of it. Until the car was not moved all day so he decided to take a look when he approached the vehicle he noticed someone hunched over the center console. Upon closer inspection he saw another man slumped down in the passenger seat. Yes you guessed it, a double murder right in the middle of his little housing development where children play and retires live and relax hoping to spend their final years in relative peace and quite. After the incident he said that was enough and vacationed in Thailand. He had heard about the relative calm and peaceful nature of the Thai people. To make along story short, he has been in Thailand for 5 years now and has convinced numerous friends from Mexico to relocate here also and they all love it. He has a few friends who have remained in Mexico who say things have gotten worse since he left and they were looking for other options and planed on moving soon.

These are the exact words of the man I meet in the Thai massage shop John

I also moved here with my wife and thing have gone very well I have been married for 15 years and we are closer now than we have ever been less stress and lower cost of living has allowed us to spend more time together. I am sorry to her that some one has had a bad experience here. Like anywhere things can be challenging and difficult. But it is what you make of it that counts. There was a learning curve for us but now we have settled in and things are great. It is the people of Thailand that make this such a special place to live.

People also need to be reminded that living in Thailand can have it's down-side. I retired here with my husband in December 2006. We had been married for 28 years. Within a year of arriving my husband dumped me for a Thai bar girl. So ladies beware, be absolutely 100% sure of your husband before giving up everything to come here!

I have lived in Thailand for about three years and your site is helpful in finding correct information without being solicited to buy things I like the low key approach. I am tring to get some freinds to come on your tour the prices are very good.
